Skoda India is gearing up for the launch of the Octavia RS in the Indian market. Bookings for the car will commence on October 6th, ahead of its official launch on October 17th. The vehicle’s performance-focused variant has been spotted numerous times without camouflage, providing enthusiasts with a preview of its final design. One notable sighting occurred during a TV commercial shoot.
The car’s sporty aesthetic is immediately apparent, highlighted by LED matrix headlights and DRLs. It is further complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels and a sculpted body. The interior includes sports seats, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and other advanced features.
The 2025 Skoda Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine, delivering 216 hp and a peak torque of 370 Nm. This power is channeled to the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG transmission. Unlike some markets, the Indian version will not feature Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which is based on the UK model.
The 2.0-liter engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The RS model sits 15 mm lower than the standard Octavia. To enhance its sporty character, the Czech manufacturer has incorporated a unique exhaust system, setting it apart from the standard variant.
It is anticipated that the Skoda Octavia RS will be priced around 50 lakh rupees, given its CBU status. This pricing positions the car to compete directly with the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
