Mahindra is actively working on a facelift for the three-door Thar, a vehicle that has been a mainstay in the off-roading segment for five years. The update aims to refresh the Thar’s appeal, particularly in light of the newer Thar Roxx. A test mule has been seen with a redesigned front fascia, hinting at forthcoming exterior changes. These changes could include features introduced on the Thar Roxx, ensuring both models remain attractive to consumers. Considering Mahindra’s upcoming launches, the facelift could be revealed around the festive season.
Inside, the interior design may include the Thar Roxx’s 10.2-inch TFT screen alongside the existing steering wheel. The test vehicle did not have a sunroof, but final production models could include advanced features such as ADAS and ventilated seats. The absence of a gear selector in the test vehicle suggests it was a RWD configuration.
Exterior enhancements will feature a new front fascia, updated grille, headlights, tail lamps, and modified fenders. The engine lineup is anticipated to offer various options, including a 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 1.5-liter diesel, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
