As the Tata Sierra prepares to hit the market in the coming months, it’s undergoing final testing. Spy shots have captured a partially covered test vehicle showcasing a boxy design, a shark fin antenna, and flush door handles. The presence of steel wheels and hubcaps indicates this is the base model. The higher-end production versions are expected to feature 19-inch alloy wheels.
The distinctive wheel arch cladding, the raised bonnet, and the characteristic curved rear window contribute to its stylish look. The SUV will sport a split headlamp arrangement at the front, coupled with a connected LED light strip at the rear.
Inside, the Tata Sierra is expected to feature a three-screen setup, with one display approximately 12.3 inches. These screens will serve different functions: infotainment, instrument cluster, and a screen for the front passengers. Additional features will include a dual-tone dashboard, a Harman sound system, a four-spoke steering wheel adopted from the Harrier EV, an illuminated Tata logo, and ambient lighting.
The base variant of the Tata Sierra might not include all premium features, such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS. Other features that could be included are a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, and electronic stability control.
Initially, the Tata Sierra will be launched with an electric powertrain, borrowed from the Harrier EV. The Harrier EV uses a 65kWh battery with a single motor and a 75kWh battery pack with single and dual motor configurations. The smaller battery option is projected to offer a range of 538 km, while the larger battery versions could provide 627 km (75kWh RWD) and 622 km (75kWh AWD) ranges.
An ICE-powered Sierra, with new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, will be released early next year. Later, the SUV lineup will include a new, more powerful 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine.
