Prospective SUV buyers might want to consider delaying their purchase. Several manufacturers are preparing to release updated models, offering a wider range of choices. The Mahindra Thar (3-door) and XUV700 are among the vehicles expected to receive updates.
The Mahindra Thar (3-door) is slated for an imminent refresh. Test vehicles indicate a front-end redesign inspired by the Thar Roxx. The updated Thar is expected to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. Safety enhancements include a 360-degree camera with Level 2 ADAS functionality. Powertrain options are likely to remain unchanged, with petrol and diesel engines offered in both rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive configurations.
In addition to the Thar, Mahindra is working on a facelift for the XUV700. Spy shots suggest minor design changes, including a revised front fascia, while retaining the existing silhouette. The XUV700 facelift is expected to feature redesigned headlights and a refreshed front end.
Skoda also has updates planned. The Slavia is expected to receive a facelift that includes a digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera system, and a premium audio system. The Kushaq will also undergo a mid-cycle update. The Kushaq facelift will retain existing engine options but add electronic parking brakes, a larger digital instrument panel, and Level 2 ADAS. The exterior will feature a redesigned front fascia and interior upgrades.
Renault is planning facelifts for the Triber and Kiger. The overall design of these vehicles is expected to remain consistent, but with a refreshed front fascia, updated alloy wheels, and LED lighting. Interior enhancements are planned to improve features and competitiveness. A new facelift for the Renault Duster is also in the pipeline. The Duster has been seen undergoing testing in Europe and is expected to launch in India soon. Nissan also intends to launch a rebadged Duster.
