A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru found themselves unexpectedly confined to the airplane’s restroom for the entire duration of the flight. The incident, which occurred due to a malfunctioning door lock, has become a subject of amusement and disbelief among the public. The airline has acknowledged the situation, issuing an apology and reportedly offering a refund.
The passenger was finally released after the plane touched down in Bengaluru. Airport staff and engineers promptly opened the locked toilet door. The flight, which was delayed, took off from Mumbai at 2:10 AM. The trouble began when a passenger, seated in seat 14D, entered the lavatory shortly after takeoff and was unable to exit.
After multiple failed attempts to open the door, the crew decided to communicate with the passenger via a handwritten note, slipped through the door’s crack. The note advised the passenger to remain seated inside the restroom until the plane landed. The incident’s details, along with images of the crew’s note, have rapidly circulated on social media platforms, generating widespread reactions.
