Skoda India has unveiled a teaser for the upcoming Skoda Octavia RS on social media. The high-performance model, previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is poised to make a significant impact. As a flagship sedan for Skoda in India, the Octavia RS will arrive as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, influencing its price point, likely positioning it within the premium segment with limited availability. This targeted approach aims to cater to enthusiasts seeking a blend of sporty performance and luxury. The teaser generated excitement among Octavia RS fans, with many celebrating its return. However, some users expressed concerns about pricing. Official bookings are scheduled to commence on October 6th, with Skoda expected to announce the official pricing shortly thereafter. The Octavia RS boasts performance upgrades compared to the standard model, including a 2.0-liter TSI, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. This powertrain mirrors that of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, launched in India this year. Built on the MQB Evo platform, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Upon launch, the Skoda Octavia RS will compete with premium sedans such as the Audi A4, BMW 2 Series Grand Coupe, Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine, and the hybrid Toyota Camry.
