Royal Enfield has broken its own sales record, achieving the highest monthly sales in its 124-year history. The company sold 1,24,328 motorcycles in September 2025. This achievement followed the previous record set in August 2025, when 1,14,002 units were sold. The September sales reflect a 43% increase compared to the same month in 2024, when 86,978 motorcycles were sold, an addition of 37,350 units. Compared to August 2025, there was a 9% increase, translating to 10,326 more units sold. Contributing factors to this strong performance include the commencement of the festive season in India and the impact of reduced GST rates.
In the segment of 350cc and below, the company sold 1,07,478 units in September 2025, marking a 43% increase from the previous year. The cumulative sales from April-September 2025 reached 5,09,610 units, representing a 32% growth. The premium segment, which includes motorcycles above 350cc, recorded sales of 16,850 units, a 45% rise from the previous year. Overall sales for this category during April-September reached 82,293 units, indicating a 22% increase.
The domestic market saw sales of 1,13,573 motorcycles, representing a 43% increase compared to the previous year. Export performance was also robust, with 10,755 units sold in September, a 41% increase. From April-September 2025, a total of 70,421 units were exported, reflecting a significant 60% surge. Under GST 2.0, motorcycles up to 350cc have become more affordable, with the tax rate reduced to 18 percent. Royal Enfield subsequently lowered the prices of its 350cc models starting September 22. These models were previously subject to a 28% GST, leading to a price reduction of up to 20,000 rupees for Royal Enfield’s 350cc models.
