The Renault Duster is slated for a comeback in India with a complete redesign, with its release planned for either this year or 2026. Renault is likely to present both a standard 5-seater version and a 7-seater variant, mirroring the Bigster and Boreal models offered in Europe. Spy shots taken in Brazil reveal a clear view of the front of the SUV, despite being heavily camouflaged.
Observations indicate a redesigned front fascia, with the front grille and headlights integrated into a continuous design. The Renault logo is prominently placed in the center of the grille. The Indian version, seen undergoing tests in Bangalore, shares a similar aesthetic to its international counterpart. The car features unique V-shaped tail lamps and a distinctive notched roof-mounted spoiler, giving it a sporty and dynamic appearance.
The tailgate design is contoured, complemented by thick wheel arch cladding, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, a rear washer and wiper, and a raked windshield. These features align with the European version’s specifications.
The new Duster is built upon the CMF-B modular platform, shared with various Dacia, Renault, and Nissan vehicles. The upcoming Renault Duster is expected to offer three powertrain choices: a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, producing 138 hp; a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 128.2 hp; and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG dual-fuel engine generating 98.6 hp, paired with a 6-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.
The new-generation Duster will feature a comprehensive list of equipment, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, OTA updates, and dual-zone AC. Safety features include six airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. The vehicle may also include ADAS features like autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring. The current Dacia Duster has a 3-star Euro NCAP rating.
