In a significant move, Renault India is reducing prices on its cars, offering substantial savings to its customers. The price cuts, which go up to ₹96,395, are a direct result of the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0 reforms. The new prices will be effective from September 22, 2025, coinciding with the start of the Navratri festival. Bookings at the revised prices are already open. Renault India’s Managing Director, Venkatram Mamillapalle, emphasized the company’s commitment to transferring the full GST benefits to customers. This step is designed to make Renault vehicles more accessible and boost sales during the upcoming festive season. The Kwid model sees savings of up to ₹55,095. The Triber offers a maximum benefit of ₹80,195, while the Kiger provides the highest savings, reaching ₹96,395. This initiative makes the entire Renault lineup more affordable. The GST Council recently adjusted the tax rates, reducing the tax slab on small vehicles and two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent. Electric vehicles will continue to have a 5 percent tax rate. This will lower prices for smaller cars and motorcycles, while SUVs and bikes above 3500cc will attract a 40 percent tax. The price cuts will provide direct benefits to customers and are expected to drive sales growth during the Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali festive period. This move follows a similar price adjustment by Tata Motors, highlighting how auto companies are quickly adapting their strategies to the new GST framework. The Renault Kiger features include an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, selectable drive modes, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, multiple airbags, tire pressure monitoring, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, 3-point seatbelts, leatherette upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a multi-view camera, a wireless charger, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps with wipers, variable steering weight, a 6-speaker audio system with 3D Arkamys surround sound, and more. The Renault Kiger is offered with two engine options: a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 72hp and 96Nm of torque, and a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that produces 100hp and 160Nm. The NA engine is available with a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine also offers a CVT gearbox alongside a 5-speed manual transmission.
