A passenger aboard a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru found themselves stuck in the aircraft’s lavatory for the entire flight. The airline has issued an apology and reportedly offered a refund, but the situation has become a subject of online discussion.
The passenger was eventually released after the plane landed at Bengaluru airport. Ground staff and engineers managed to open the locked toilet door. The incident unfolded on Monday night. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight took off two hours later than scheduled, at 2:10 AM. The passenger, seated in seat 14D, entered the restroom shortly after takeoff and was unable to open the door due to a malfunctioning lock.
As the crew worked to solve the issue, they decided to communicate with the passenger by sliding a handwritten note under the door, requesting that the passenger remain seated until the plane landed in Bengaluru. The image of the note quickly circulated on social media, with many users finding the situation humorous. The flight arrived in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. SpiceJet has acknowledged the event and apologized for the disruption.
