Odisha is set to introduce its Draft EV Policy 2025, which includes increased subsidies for electric two-wheelers. The government has decided to raise the subsidy amount to ₹30,000, a rise from the previous ₹20,000. This policy aims to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles across the state. The policy will offer incentives based on battery capacity, providing ₹5,000 per kWh, with a maximum subsidy of ₹30,000 for electric two-wheelers.
In addition to two-wheelers, the policy will also provide subsidies for electric three-wheelers, four-wheelers, taxis, trucks, and buses. The government will also increase the incentive for four-wheeler light motor vehicles or taxis from ₹1.50 lakh to ₹2 lakh. For electric buses, the government will offer an incentive of ₹20 lakh.
