Nissan is preparing to unveil a new car in India, with a recent teaser video offering a sneak peek into the forthcoming model. The video showcases a location designed for stargazing, set at a high altitude, and includes the phrases “Now see something more” and “Stay tuned.” Although Nissan has not revealed the name or specifics, the vehicle is anticipated to be a 7-seater, potentially sharing similarities with the Renault Triber. Nissan has previously confirmed the launch of a new compact MPV, which will share its platform, features, and engine with the Triber. The Renault Triber underwent updates, including design tweaks and feature enhancements, in 2025. Nissan is expected to release further details about the new model in the coming weeks. The new sub-compact MPV from Nissan will be based on the third-generation Renault Duster, as initially teased. The teaser highlights the MPV’s front, with Nissan’s signature grille, a sporty bumper with silver accents, new LED DRLs, functional roof rails, and redesigned alloy wheels. While the 7-seater is expected to differ visually from the Triber, their dimensions are likely to be similar. The Renault MPV’s dimensions include a length of 3,990 mm, a width of 1,739 mm, and a height of 1,643 mm. The new 7-seater from Nissan will utilize the same powertrain as the Renault Triber. The Triber is equipped with a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The car is expected to be among India’s most affordable 7-seaters, with a starting price around Rs 6.5 lakh. The current price range for the Renault Triber is between Rs 6.30 lakh and Rs 9.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
