NHAI has launched the FASTag Annual Pass, offering a cost-effective solution for frequent travelers on national highways and expressways. The pass, priced at ₹3,000, allows private vehicle owners to make up to 200 toll crossings within a year. This initiative is designed to streamline travel and reduce expenses for eligible vehicle owners.
This annual pass is compatible with all national highways and expressways across the country, offering a significant reduction in toll costs. Instead of paying the standard toll rates, users of the annual pass will pay a reduced rate, which averages around ₹15 per toll. This is a notable decrease from the usual ₹50 to ₹60 per toll. The pass also aims to reduce wait times at toll booths.
The FASTag Annual Pass is applicable only to cars, jeeps, and vans. Commercial vehicles, such as buses and trucks, are not eligible. To begin using the pass, users must follow a few simple steps to activate it.
1. Access via Rajmarg Yatra App or NHAI Website: Activation is available through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the official NHAI website. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and the latest version of the app for smooth operation. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
2. Login and Eligibility Check: Log in using your mobile number or vehicle registration number. Confirm that your existing FASTag is active, properly affixed to your vehicle, and linked to a valid vehicle registration number. Ensure the vehicle is not blacklisted. Private vehicles are eligible for the annual pass.
3. Input Vehicle and FASTag Information: Enter all the required vehicle and FASTag details accurately. Upload supporting documents such as vehicle registration documents, identification, and a recent photograph if needed. Verify the details before submitting.
4. Complete Payment: Make the payment of ₹3,000 for the annual pass. Accepted payment methods include UPI, debit/credit cards, and net banking. Digital wallet balances cannot be used for the payment. Retain the payment confirmation for future reference.
5. Activation Confirmation: Upon successful payment and verification, the annual pass will be activated on your existing FASTag. Activation typically takes a couple of hours, but sometimes up to 24 hours. You will receive an SMS confirmation. Verify the activation status through the app or the NHAI website before utilizing the pass at toll plazas.
