TVS is set to launch the Orbiter, a new electric scooter designed to broaden its EV offerings and sit below the iQube in the product range. The launch date is confirmed for August 28. Unlike the iQube, the Orbiter represents a completely new model with a distinct strategy, targeting a wider audience with a focus on affordability. Specifics regarding the scooter’s features and specifications have been closely guarded. However, the anticipation is that the Orbiter will be a no-frills electric scooter, likely employing a hub-mounted motor to manage costs. The Orbiter is intended to serve as the introductory model in TVS’s electric vehicle lineup, with potential alternative names such as EV One and O also trademarked. Given the iQube’s range of variants, it’s probable that the Orbiter will also be offered in multiple versions. The iQube’s pricing currently spans from ₹1 lakh to nearly ₹2 lakh. The Orbiter is anticipated to be more budget-friendly, featuring a smaller battery pack, less complex components, and fewer additional features.
