Renault India is preparing a major strategic move with the comeback of the Duster SUV. The company has been updating its current vehicle offerings, including the Triber and Kiger. The return of the Duster is anticipated to be a key element in Renault’s expansion strategy. Although an official launch date is not yet available, the anticipated release is early 2026. The third-generation Duster, which is expected to launch in India, has already been launched in South Africa in a right-hand-drive (RHD) format at a price of approximately ₹23.36 lakh. The absence of the Duster since 2022 has created a gap in Renault India’s product lineup, which currently features the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber. The Duster will be competing against other compact and mid-size SUVs, including the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Citroën C3 Aircross. The all-new Duster will be built on the CMF-B modular platform and is expected to offer multiple powertrain options: a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system, and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG dual-fuel engine.
