New Mercedes-Benz CLE 53 4MATIC+ Arrives in India, Offering High Performance

The Mercedes-Benz CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe has been launched in India, presenting a blend of C-Class performance and E-Class luxury within a two-door coupe design. Priced at approximately 1.35 crore rupees, the car is ready for immediate delivery nationwide. The vehicle boasts a 3.0-liter M 256M inline 6-cylinder petrol engine, equipped with twin turbocharging and an electric compressor. This engine incorporates modifications such as enhanced inlet and outlet channels, upgraded piston rings, improved injection systems, and a larger exhaust gas turbocharger, resulting in a boost pressure of 1.5 bar. The engine generates 449 bhp between 5,800-6,100 rpm and 560 Nm of torque between 2,200-5,000 rpm, with an overboost function increasing torque to 600 Nm for 12 seconds. The second-generation starter generator (ISG) integrated within the gearbox housing adds 23 bhp and 205 Nm, supporting the 48-volt mild-hybrid system’s electric boost, load point shifting, sailing, and start-stop operations. The AMG Speed Shift TCT 9G automatic transmission features close-ratio gearing to maximize engine performance. It includes rev-matched downshifts, multiple downshifts for swift acceleration, and adaptive shift programming that adapts based on the selected driving mode. In Sport+ and manual modes, shifts are rapid, while Comfort mode focuses on efficiency. With five AMG Dynamic Select drive modes—Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual—the car offers control over throttle mapping, transmission shift points, suspension stiffness, and steering weight. The CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 km/h, which can be optionally extended to 270 km/h. Inside, the cabin features leather and microcut microfiber upholstery with AMG accents and contrasting stitching. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides various layouts, including an AMG ‘Supersport’ mode, which centralizes the tachometer and displays performance metrics such as G-force, engine temperature, and lap times. An 11.9-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen, powered by the new MBUX system, provides voice, touch, and steering wheel-based controls. 64-color ambient lighting enhances the interior ambiance.
