A new SUV from Maruti Suzuki has been launched in India, marking its debut on September 3rd. The vehicle enters a highly competitive market segment, directly challenging popular compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
The new SUV will slot into the Maruti Suzuki range between the Brezza and Grand Vitara (GV). Customer interest is significant, fueled by expectations of new features and innovations.
Built on Suzuki’s Global C platform, also used for the Grand Vitara, the SUV’s dimensions are expected to be similar to its platform-mate based on visual information. The design includes newly designed DRL headlamps and headlights, aiming for a more striking appearance compared to competitors. Spy shots suggest a split DRL and headlamp configuration and a high bonnet design, which should contribute to a commanding road presence.
Maruti Suzuki is considering offering multiple engine options to suit varying customer preferences. The initial launch is expected to feature the K15C 1.5-liter mild-hybrid engine, already utilized in several other Maruti Suzuki models like the Grand Vitara, XL6, Brezza, and Ertiga. There is the possibility that the engine will be retuned to deliver approximately 101 horsepower and 137 Nm of torque.
