SIAM’s recent findings reveal a stable market scenario for vehicle sales in India during May 2025. The combined domestic sales figures for Passenger Vehicles, Three-Wheelers, Two-Wheelers, and Quadricycles amounted to 20,12,969 units. The two-wheeler and passenger vehicle segments led the growth, whereas three-wheelers and quadricycles faced challenges. Two-wheelers witnessed a 2.2% increase compared to the same month last year. Scooters showed a notable rise of 7.1%, while motorcycles maintained a steady pace. Conversely, mopeds experienced a decrease. Despite a 3.3% monthly decline, the three-wheeler segment’s production increased by 10.6%, and exports grew by 29.6%. Experts suggest that the auto sector will likely benefit from the RBI’s repo rate reductions and the anticipated above-normal monsoons. Leading contributors to passenger vehicle sales were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. contributed significantly to Utility Vehicle sales during April-May 2025-26, with sales figures of 84,226 and 110,757 units respectively.
