The popular Maruti Ertiga MPV is gearing up for a refresh, with several key updates planned. The upcoming changes include an increase in the overall length, growing from 4.39 meters to 4.43 meters. While the wheelbase will remain the same, the boot space is anticipated to increase. The existing Ertiga Tour M variant already boasts larger dimensions, suggesting the possibility of further enhancements across the range. Safety features are also being upgraded, with the inclusion of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard. Furthermore, the second-row AC vents have been slightly modified. A significant upgrade involves the addition of six airbags across the MPV lineup, leading to a minor price adjustment. The current Ertiga offers nine variants, with prices ranging from Rs 9.11 lakh to Rs 13.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Ertiga is expected to retain the 1.5-liter K-series petrol engine, which delivers 102 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. The CNG version provides 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, and some petrol variants offer a 6-speed automatic transmission. Beyond the Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce a new Arena-exclusive mid-size SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This SUV, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, is scheduled for launch on September 3, 2025. The name and specifics of the new SUV are still under wraps, but potential names include ‘Escudo’ or ‘Victorris’.
