The implementation of GST 2.0 reforms by the government has led to considerable price reductions for numerous vehicles. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, in particular, has seen a significant price cut, much anticipated by consumers. The Dzire is a top-selling sub-4 meter car, consistently competing with the Hyundai Creta in terms of sales volume. The price adjustments, resulting from revisions in tax slabs under the GST reforms, have decreased the cost of the car by around ₹80,000.
The updated tax rates have resulted in price reductions across all car categories. For instance, hatchback cars have seen savings of roughly ₹40,000, while premium luxury SUVs are experiencing savings up to ₹30 lakh. Automotive industry experts are hailing these tax reforms as the most extensive price reductions in the history of the Indian automotive market.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire benefits the most, with price reductions up to ₹88,000, especially on its top-of-the-line ZXI Plus variant. This trend also applies to the Maruti Swift hatchback, with its top-spec variants receiving the largest GST price cuts. The Dzire’s total price reduction varies from ₹58,000 to ₹88,000, depending on the specific variant. The vehicle is available in both manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) versions. The price cuts for AMT variants range from ₹72,000 to ₹88,000.
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire includes major updates to both its design and features. It comes equipped with a new Z-series 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine, replacing the former 4-cylinder engine. Furthermore, the car has achieved a five-star safety rating in both the Global NCAP (GNCAP) and Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) assessments.
The Dzire is also available with a factory-installed CNG kit, compatible with the petrol engine. While the car is already a popular choice in the taxi sector, the recent upgrades and GST rate reductions are expected to boost its demand among private buyers. Sales are projected to further increase, especially with festive season promotions.
