The lowest price reduction of ₹74,000 applies to the base-spec MX1 RWD MT petrol variant of the Thar Roxx. Petrol variants of the SUV have seen price reductions of up to ₹1.18 lakh. The fully loaded AX7L 4WD diesel-automatic variant of the Thar Roxx receives the largest price cut, amounting to ₹1.33 lakh. This development is expected to contribute to increased SUV sales during the festive period.

The price cuts for the Mahindra Thar Roxx were implemented despite a 12% increase in the GST rate for this SUV. Previously, the Thar Roxx was subject to 28% GST, but under the new tax regulations, it will now attract 40% GST due to its length exceeding 4,000 mm and its engine capacity exceeding 1,500 cc. Earlier, the total tax on this SUV was 48%, composed of 28% GST and a 20% cess.
