The Mahindra Thar, a prominent name in the Indian automotive landscape, is synonymous with off-roading prowess, particularly popular among young enthusiasts. Its exceptional driving dynamics during off-road adventures are a key selling point. Now, Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a 3-door facelift model of the Thar.
Since its launch in 2020, Mahindra & Mahindra has achieved considerable success with the Thar, establishing it as one of India’s leading lifestyle vehicles. To maintain its momentum, the company has expanded its range, initially with an easier 2WD variant, and more recently with the 5-door Thar Rocks, both of which have resonated with buyers.
The Thar’s popularity remains unwavering
Despite strong demand, the Thar’s popularity remains consistent. Mahindra is now focused on revamping the 3-door model. Approximately five years after the second-generation variant’s debut, a mid-cycle update is underway, with test mules spotted during testing.
Ongoing testing of the updated XUV700
The facelifted Thar is anticipated to launch within weeks. Recently, Mahindra showcased four new concepts featuring the next-gen platform. Additionally, testing of the updated XUV700, slated for an early 2026 launch, continues.
