Mahindra’s BE 6 Batman Edition electric SUV, themed after The Dark Knight Trilogy, has witnessed extraordinary success. The vehicle’s entire stock was depleted in just 2.5 minutes. Initially, Mahindra offered 300 units of this special edition, but due to strong customer interest, the production was scaled up to 999 units. This increased volume, however, also vanished rapidly.
The SUV’s appeal stems from its distinctive design, Batman-themed features, and limited edition status. This vehicle not only marks a new milestone in the electric vehicle market but also underlines the substantial demand for luxury and themed EVs within the Indian market. The sales launch at 11:00 AM on August 23, quickly resulted in all units being reserved within 135 seconds.
This version of the BE 6 carries enhancements that complement the standard SUV model. It boasts a special satin black exterior, Batman decals on the front doors, and “BE 6 × The Dark Knight” badging at the rear. The vehicle features enhanced R20 alloy wheels for a more imposing presence, while the suspension components sport an Alchemy Gold finish.
The interior design is carefully curated. It incorporates features like the steering wheel, the in-touch controller, and an electronic parking brake. The key fob is also finished in Alchemy Gold. The iconic bat symbol is found on the “Boost” button, on the seatbacks, on interior labels, and on the passenger-side dashboard graphics. The Batman theme extends to the branding on racecar-style door straps, a Batman Edition welcome animation on the infotainment display, and custom exterior sounds that pay homage to the Batmobile.
Under the hood, the BE 6 Batman edition is built on the Pack Three model with a 79 kWh battery pack. This setup allows the electric SUV to travel up to 682 km on a single charge. The 59 kWh variant offers 230 bhp, and the 79 kWh version delivers 285 bhp, with both producing 380 Nm of torque. The BE 6 supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
