Honda has introduced its first electric motorcycle, the WN7, marking its entry into the electric two-wheeler market, specifically in Europe. The motorcycle’s name, WN7, is derived from ‘Become Wind’, ‘Naked’, and the output category 7. The WN7 is based on the EV Fun concept showcased at EICMA 2024 in Milan. This electric bike is equipped with a fixed lithium-ion battery that provides a range of over 130 km on a full charge. One of its standout features is its fast-charging capability, allowing it to charge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes using a CCS2 fast charger. A complete charge at home can be achieved in under three hours. Honda states that the WN7’s power output matches that of a 600cc gasoline motorcycle, and in terms of torque, it rivals 1000cc bikes. The smooth and quiet performance, along with on-demand acceleration, offers a fresh perspective on what an electric motorcycle can deliver. The design of the WN7 boasts an electric vehicle aesthetic, with its body lines and overall design setting it apart from Honda’s current ICE models. A 5-inch TFT screen in the dashboard facilitates smartphone integration via Honda RoadSync, offering navigation, music, and call functionalities. Honda’s commitment extends beyond this model. The company has committed to carbon-neutralizing all its motorbikes by 2040, with a goal of achieving full carbon neutrality by 2050.
