Hero is honoring its legacy in India’s two-wheeler industry by celebrating the sale of 125 million units. The brand, born from a partnership between Hero and Honda, debuted with the CD 100 in 1985. The company has now launched special edition models of the Splendor+, Passion+, and Vida VX2 to mark this achievement. These updated models feature unique cosmetic enhancements to denote this significant sales milestone.
Hero rapidly rose to become a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in India. The company reached 1 lakh riders in 1994, followed by the launch of the best-selling Splendor. It then crossed the 1 million unit milestone, and the Passion series was introduced. In 2005, Hero entered the scooter segment with the Pleasure line. By 2009, the company had produced nearly 25 million units.
