Ather Energy is rumored to be planning the inclusion of cruise control in its 450 series electric scooters. The potential announcement is expected on the 2025 Community Day, which is set for August 30, 2025. There are also indications that Ather might unveil a new entry-level model during the same event. Moreover, updates for the current models could also be revealed. Details regarding these updates are currently unconfirmed, but reports suggest that Ather could introduce cruise control as a major feature within the 450 series.
The 450 series currently features three models: the 450s, 450X, and 450 Apex. It’s anticipated that cruise control will be added to the 450X and 450 Apex models, with existing customers receiving this feature via software updates. However, this update will only be available to scooters running the Atherstack Pro software. Cruise control isn’t a novel concept in the Indian electric scooter market. In June 2022, Ola Electric incorporated cruise control in its S1 series through the Move OS 2.0 update, which was later improved with Move OS 4.0.
