The EV market in India is experiencing rapid advancements, with companies consistently innovating to improve their products through R&D. Ather Energy, a key player in the EV sector, has launched an upgraded version of its premium 450 Apex electric scooter, now equipped with the innovative Infinity Cruise Control system. The updated model was presented at the Ather Community Day 2025 event held in Bengaluru. The 2025 Ather 450 Apex will ship with this feature, while existing customers will receive it through OTA updates.
**Understanding Infinity Cruise**
Infinity Cruise is a cutting-edge cruise control system developed by Ather, tailored for Indian roads and traffic. It features three distinct modes: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control.
**City Cruise:** This mode maintains a steady speed on city roads, operating from slower speeds up to 90 km/h. The system is designed to remain active even during braking or changes in speed, automatically adjusting to maintain the desired pace.
**Hill Cruise:** This feature assists with effortless hill climbing. On descents, it utilizes the Magic Braking System (which also drives Magic Twist), allowing the scooter to maintain a constant speed through regenerative braking.
**Crawl Control:** This mode provides smooth operation at low speeds, such as 10 km/h, on uneven or rough surfaces. It also integrates Multimode Traction Control to ensure stability on wet and slippery roads.
**Battery, Range, and Performance**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex retains the existing mechanical setup, using the 3.7kWh battery pack, offering a range of 157km on a full charge. Its 7kW motor generates 9.39bhp and 26Nm of torque. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 100 km/h. It includes five riding modes, including Wrap+.
**Key Features**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is a premium electric scooter, offered in a single variant with an ex-showroom price of around ₹1.90 lakh.
