The Mahindra Bolero, a key model in Mahindra’s SUV lineup, is scheduled for a significant update in 2026. The upcoming model will retain its classic boxy silhouette, enhanced with a modern design. Key exterior features will include a new grille design with vertical slats, integrated DRLs, and updated LED headlights. The vehicle’s profile will incorporate a dual-tone alloy wheel design, body cladding, and squared-off wheel arches. Underneath, the 2026 Bolero will likely debut Mahindra’s ‘Freedom NU’ flexible platform, expected to be unveiled on August 15, 2025. Inside, the Bolero will feature an all-black interior theme, a new steering wheel design, and an upgraded infotainment system. It will also include a semi-digital instrument cluster, with a large color TFT MID, and dual-zone climate control. Higher trims may include a fully digital driver’s display. The new Bolero could include advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Comfort and convenience features like wireless smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a wireless phone charger, a powered driver’s seat, push-button start, an auto-dimming IRVM, keyless entry, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting are also anticipated. The engine options may include the current 1.5-liter mHawk diesel engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a rear-wheel-drive configuration. Mahindra plans to manufacture the new Bolero at its Chakan facility, with an initial production target of around 1.2 lakh units.
