Hyundai is preparing to introduce a facelifted version of the Verna, its mid-size sedan. Recent sightings of camouflaged test vehicles on Indian roads point towards the launch of the new Hyundai Verna facelift possibly by early 2026. The company is prioritizing design enhancements, similar to its past facelift models.
The updated Verna will retain the distinctive taillamp design that spans across the rear of the car, but with updated LED elements to refine the look. The rear bumper is also being redesigned to enhance its visual appeal. While current spy images emphasize the rear design, significant changes are anticipated for the front end. The design is expected to take cues from the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata, incorporating a more assertive front grille, larger projector headlamps, and streamlined LED DRLs.
No major interior redesigns are expected. However, Hyundai is likely to introduce several new features, including an enlarged infotainment display, an updated instrument cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring capabilities, and an upgraded ADAS safety suite. The current Verna model is priced from ₹10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The new facelift version is anticipated to have a slightly increased price. Once launched, the Verna will compete against models such as the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
The engine options for the new Verna are expected to remain consistent with the existing model. It will feature a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or IVT gearbox. Furthermore, a more potent 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, will also be available, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
