India’s electric vehicle market is poised for significant growth, with major players like Mahindra, BYD, and Tata Motors preparing to introduce new electric models. Maruti Suzuki is also entering the EV space. The upcoming electric vehicles are expected to offer impressive range and features.
BYD Atto 2:
Spotted during recent testing, this mid-size electric SUV is anticipated to go on sale by the close of 2025. The international version comes with 45.1kWh and 51.1kWh battery packs, providing a range of up to 410 kilometers on a single charge. It’s designed to compete with models such as the Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta Electric.
Tata Sierra EV:
Tata Motors unveiled the production model of this car at Auto Expo 2025. The electric version is slated for release around the festive season, followed by the ICE variant. Expect battery options similar to the Harrier EV, with 65kWh and 75kWh configurations, potentially offering a range of up to 627 kilometers on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
The e-Vitara from Maruti Suzuki is set to debut in India soon, with the first production unit slated for August 26. It will likely be offered with 61.1kWh and 48.9kWh battery choices. The larger battery variant could provide a range exceeding 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Mahindra XEV 7e:
Scheduled for launch by the end of 2025, Mahindra’s new 7-seater electric SUV may come with 59kWh and 79kWh battery options. It is projected to offer a range of more than 600 kilometers on a full charge.
