Admission has started in the State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (SIHM) at Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Any student can take admission in food production and diploma courses by October 1. The minimum educational qualification for a one and a half year diploma course is 12th pass.

It was informed by the institute that for the academic session 2020-21, admission is being given in Diploma in Food Production, Diploma in Food and Beverage Service and Diploma in House Keeping Operation courses. 40-40 seats are prescribed for all three diploma courses. Candidates who want to take admission can apply from Hotel Johar Chhattisgarh in Telibandha. IHM Raipur has been recognized by National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu were constantly trying to get the institute recognized. According to officials, NCHMCT has also included IHM in the counseling list. The IHM set up during the BJP government was in disarray for 14 years. Faculty and staff were appointed in this institute under the tourism department after spending crores of rupees, but there were no students. One crore rupees were being spent on his salary every year. The CAG also found a flaw in its report, but still no action was taken.
