Raipur / Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Shri R.P. Shri Mandal said that Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa, Badi is the highest priority scheme of the state government. Recently 1900 Gothanas have been released in the state. Most of these Gauthans are very well made and are ideally made. Additional Chief Secretary said that through this the thinking of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is to promote water conservation, animal promotion, organic compost, as well as economic development of rural areas. Shri Mandal said that the rainy season is suitable from the point of view of fodder production. Perform fodder in 1560 pastures operated in rural areas. Under the Badi scheme, 1 lakh 34 thousand enclosures have been selected in the state. Similarly, 1 lakh 28 thousand drains have been selected for water recycling. He asked the officers of agriculture and horticulture, etc. to develop enclosures and start the work of rerouting of drains through MNREGA.

Additional Chief Secretary asked to construct a workshop for the processing of forest produce in every district in the next three months, so that maximum forest produce and minor forest produce can be exploited and their value added. And through this people can be increased means of livelihood and income. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests said that for this, emphasis is also on increasing storage for collection of forest produce up to the primary committee level.

In the meeting, Mr. Mandal inquired about the progress of plantation work in the districts and intensive plantation work along the banks of rivers. He said that the plantation work should be completed by the month of August.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Mandal praised the collectors, chief executive officers and forest divisions of Balod and Raipur districts for their outstanding work under Jal Shakti Abhiyan. Under this campaign rainwater harvesting, water conservation, intensive afforestation as well as renovation of traditional and other water bodies and ponds and watershed development have been included.

At the meeting, Commissioner Raipur Mr. Churendra directed the officials to ensure that there is no encroachment or interference in catchment area of ‚Äč‚ÄčNistari pond and water body etc. in rural areas. He insisted on making silt pits near the school and other offices etc., so that rain water can be recharged. Commissioner Durg Shri Vasnikar emphasized on roadside plantation.
