Jawad Ahmad Siddiqui, at the helm of Al-Falah University, is facing serious accusations from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning the fraudulent acquisition of land in Madanpur Khadar, southeast Delhi. The ED’s investigation reveals that a crucial General Power of Attorney (GPA), dated January 7, 2004, was allegedly forged to facilitate the transfer of Khasra No. 792 to the Tarbia Education Foundation, an organization linked to Siddiqui. The core of the allegation lies in the GPA falsely representing five individuals as living landowners, despite their deaths occurring between 1972 and 1998.
Records indicate that Nathu died in 1972, Harbans Singh in 1991, Harkesh in 1993, and Shiv Dayal and Jai Ram both in 1998. The ED points to the creation of a GPA in 2004, bearing their supposed consent, as a significant fraudulent act. Further compounding the allegations, a sale deed was registered in June 2013, approximately nine years after the forged GPA. This document purportedly sold the land, estimated to be worth Rs 75 lakh, to the Tarbia Education Foundation, with Vinod Kumar signing on behalf of the deceased owners.
The ED has arrested Siddiqui under the PMLA, citing his effective control over the trust and its activities. Searches of associated individuals have yielded evidence, including the recovery of cash and indications of fund diversion to family-linked businesses. These findings, according to the ED, point towards a pattern of generating and layering illicit funds.
