A group of 88 students from the third grade at Grizzly School participated in an insightful educational visit to the Koderma Cow Shelter. The students were greeted by Amit Khetan, a key figure at the shelter, who led them on a comprehensive tour of the premises. This visit aimed to provide practical learning experiences outside the classroom.
During their exploration, the students witnessed firsthand the multifaceted operations of the cow shelter. They learned about the creation of organic manure, the journey of milk from production to packaging, and the importance of cultivating green fodder. The machinery employed, such as tractors and specialized fodder cutters, was also a point of interest, with students understanding their utility.
Several students, including prominent names like Sanskriti Kumari, Arohi Arya, Sagar Satyam, and Naina, actively sought information from Arun Modi, the shelter’s secretary. Their curiosity spanned topics from the commercialization of organic fertilizer to the maintenance of the shelter’s infrastructure and the welfare of its staff.
Mr. Modi provided detailed explanations, enriching the students’ understanding of animal husbandry and sustainable practices. As a token of appreciation for the school’s engagement, teachers received commemorative gifts and organic fertilizer. The school’s delegation included Vikas Kumar Yadav and Reema Chatterjee, among others, while the shelter’s team comprised Anant Chandra and Saurav Mishra, along with other staff members.
