A crucial infrastructure upgrade is underway in Dhanbad with the expansion of the Gaya Pul Underpass, a vital artery for the city. District Magistrate Aditya Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar recently reviewed the progress of the widening initiative. This project is poised to resolve a persistent traffic bottleneck that has plagued the community for years.
The projected deadline for the completion of the Gaya Pul Underpass expansion is December 2026. However, there’s a strong drive to expedite the process and deliver the benefits to the citizens sooner. The successful execution of this project relies heavily on the synchronized efforts of various departments, including PHE, power, RCD, the municipal corporation, railways, and BSNL. The area is a critical transit point, with numerous important express trains operating overhead.
To ensure maximum coordination and efficiency, officials from all involved departments were brought together at the site during the inspection. Clear instructions were given to expedite their contributions and avoid any potential disruptions. Importantly, the plans include the development of a dedicated utility corridor. This will integrate essential services like water supply, drainage, gas lines, and pathways, streamlining future access and maintenance.
