A grand and historic ceremony was organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly premises in Ranchi today. On this occasion, Honorable Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Honorable Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren attended as the chief guests. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren extended his best wishes to all the MLAs, Ministers, MPs, Speaker of the Assembly, and staff on this historic occasion of the Assembly’s Silver Jubilee. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that behind the creation of Jharkhand, there has been a long struggle, sacrifice, and an indelible role of the tribal-indigenous society here. Our ancestors and brave martyrs undertook countless struggles until the state was granted separate status, thanks to whom Jharkhand is progressing on the path of development with its distinct identity today. The Chief Minister said that this journey of 25 years has been filled with many experiences for the state. The recent celebration of the Silver Jubilee by the Jharkhand government, Jharkhand High Court, and now the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is a symbol of the state’s continuity on the path of development.
Baba Shibu Soren was a symbol of Jharkhand’s soul, struggle, and self-pride
The Chief Minister said that it is extremely unfortunate that our respected Baba, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren ji, a pioneer of the Jharkhand movement, is not among us today. He dedicated every moment of his life to the identity, rights, and self-pride of the state. Under his leadership and guidance, the Jharkhand movement took the form of a mass movement, which ultimately paved the way for the creation of the state. The Chief Minister said that the late Baba Shibu Soren ji is not only a source of inspiration for us but also a symbol of Jharkhand’s soul, struggle, and self-pride. His ideals and contributions will always remain a guide for future generations.
Government committed to economic, educational, and social empowerment
The Chief Minister further said, “After the formation of the state, expected progress could not be achieved in the areas of poverty, malnutrition, and social justice. However, the current government has taken a strong resolve towards economic, educational, and social empowerment. Through innovative programs like the Right to Service, governance policies are being delivered directly to the doorstep of the public. The main goal of the government is to ensure justice, transparency, and sensitive administration in every village and region, so that every citizen can easily and effectively benefit from constitutional rights and facilities.”
During the program, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren congratulated and extended best wishes to MLA Shri Raj Sinha, selected as the Outstanding MLA. He said that the selection of an outstanding MLA is a symbol of the dignity of the house and the discipline and loyalty of a public representative. On this occasion, Honorable Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Honorable Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, and Speaker of the Assembly Shri Rabindranath Mahato honored the Assembly staff who performed excellently, as well as the brave police personnel and soldiers of Jharkhand state who were martyred on the borders of the country and in Naxal operations, by presenting them with mementos, certificates of appreciation, and honorariums. During the program, the biography of the Honorable Members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the book “Sadan Samvad”, and the 99th and 100th issues of the Assembly’s monthly magazine “Udaan” were released. The Chief Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly also honored the state’s players, students, writers, and former MLAs.
This ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Shri Rabindranath Mahato, Leader of the Opposition Shri Babulal Marandi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Whip of the Opposition Shri Navin Jaiswal, Outstanding MLA Shri Raj Sinha, Secretary-in-charge of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Shri Maniklal Hembram, along with all ministers, MPs, MLAs, former ministers, former MLAs, and officials and employees of the Assembly.
