A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed by the Faridabad Police to thoroughly investigate Al-Falah University’s suspected connections to an extremist group involved in the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. This move by local authorities runs parallel to investigations by national agencies, aiming to uncover how accused individuals leveraged the university as a base for their operations over an extended period without detection. The newly formed SIT, led by two ACPs and supported by experienced police personnel, is undertaking a comprehensive review of the university’s administrative and financial structures, as well as identifying any complicity. The team’s critical task is to map out the networks that may have enabled a doctor, identified as a key accused, to utilize the university campus. A core element of the investigation involves understanding the supply chain of explosives – how they were acquired, stored, and moved to Delhi from Faridabad undetected. Investigators are also probing potential institutional vulnerabilities, supervisory failures, or external interference that might have facilitated the module’s covert existence for years. Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta has instructed the SIT to examine the broader climate within the university that could have fostered such clandestine activities and to submit regular progress reports. The university has been a focal point of concern for weeks, not only for its alleged role in the terror plot but also for separate allegations of significant financial fraud and fake accreditation.
