A newly emerged terror module, reportedly including educated professionals, has come under intense scrutiny following the Delhi blast. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has voiced strong disapproval of a video attributed to Dr. Umar Nabi, a key accused in the incident, in which he appears to legitimize suicide bombings.
Owaisi denounced the content of the video, stating emphatically that ‘this is terrorism and nothing else.’ He stressed that suicide is forbidden in Islam and that the intentional harm of innocents is a grave offense, regardless of any perceived religious justification. The AIMIM leader dismissed any notion that such acts could be construed as anything other than terrorism.
Furthermore, Owaisi highlighted potential security oversights, referencing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s previous statement to Parliament. He questioned the emergence of this sophisticated terror network, particularly when it was previously reported that no local youth were joining extremist ranks. ‘Where did this group come from then?’ Owaisi demanded, calling for an explanation of the intelligence failure.
The blast, which took place near the Red Fort Metro station, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. Investigations have linked Dr. Nabi to a substantial cache of explosives, suggesting he was part of a well-organized and educated extremist cell. The polished articulation in the video is seen by experts as representative of a worrying evolution in terrorist profiles.
