A major breakthrough has been achieved in the investigation of the November 10th Red Fort car blast, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arresting a Kashmiri national, Amir Rashid Ali. The arrested individual is alleged to have been instrumental in arranging the vehicle used by the suicide bomber in the attack that resulted in 10 fatalities and 32 injuries.
Sources within the NIA stated on Sunday that Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore, was apprehended in Delhi. He is suspected of conspiring with the bomber, identified as Umar Un Nabi, and facilitating the acquisition of the Hyundai i20 that was later modified into a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED).
Forensic analysis has confirmed the identity of the bomber as Umar Un Nabi, a native of Pulwama and previously an Assistant Professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad. The NIA’s meticulous investigation included extensive searches across Delhi, leading to Ali’s arrest.
Adding to the ongoing efforts, investigators have also taken possession of another vehicle linked to Nabi, which is now under examination for further intelligence. The agency has diligently interviewed 73 witnesses, comprising both survivors and those directly impacted by the blast, as part of its comprehensive effort to map out the entire terror network.
The NIA is actively engaged in inter-agency cooperation, working closely with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, and Uttar Pradesh Police to thoroughly investigate the conspiracy and apprehend all perpetrators behind the devastating Red Fort bombing.
