A solemn tribute ceremony was organized at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda statue in Hill Chowk to commemorate his birth anniversary. Torpa’s former MLA, Koche Munda, led the homage by offering flowers and bowing to the statue. Local public representatives, Bharatiya Janata Party members, and a significant number of villagers participated in the event.
Addressing the attendees, Koche Munda emphasized Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s monumental role as a freedom fighter and a beacon of hope for tribal communities across India. He highlighted the ‘Ulgulan’ movement initiated by Birsa Munda against British rule, which profoundly impacted society. Munda described Birsa Munda’s life as a testament to resilience, sacrifice, and social change, urging the younger generation to draw inspiration from his legacy and actively participate in societal and national progress. Prominent figures present included Santosh Jaiswal and Vinod Bhagat from the BJP State Working Committee, along with other party officials and activists. The speakers lauded Birsa Munda’s pivotal role in shaping Jharkhand and called for collective efforts from all communities to realize his vision for the state.
