The Torpa block is celebrating a landmark achievement as 109 families have now moved into their brand-new residences. This massive housing drive, celebrated through various local ceremonies, saw beneficiaries receive keys to homes built under multiple government schemes. The Abua Awas Yojana stands out, having facilitated the construction of 95 new houses, a testament to its success in enabling rural populations to own a home. Additionally, 13 families benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and one received a house through the Ambedkar Awas Yojana. The primary event, held at the block office, highlighted the state government’s dedication to accessible housing. District council member Sushanti Kongadi, along with prominent local leaders and government officials, distributed the keys and praised the initiative for enhancing the quality of life for residents. Beneficiaries shared their joy and gratitude for the opportunity to finally have their own homes.
