A devastating act of suicide has occurred in Mango, East Singhbhum, where 42-year-old car driver Abhijit Ghosh ended his life on Sunday night. The incident took place in his residence in Old Subhash Colony. His family has stated that the driver was experiencing significant financial strain and considerable mental anguish, which led him to this extreme step.
Ghosh, employed as a car driver, was reportedly overwhelmed by his inability to pay his vehicle’s loan installments. Reports indicate an outstanding amount of around 18,000 rupees was causing him immense worry. His father-in-law added that Abhijit’s struggle with addiction further compounded his financial problems and emotional distress. He had reportedly gone out for a fare on Sunday and, upon his return in the late evening, retreated to his room and took his own life by hanging.
When the family could not get a response from his room for an extended period, they broke down the door. Inside, they found Abhijit Ghosh hanging. He was promptly transported to MGM Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors. The community and his family are in mourning following this tragic event. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and have sent the body for autopsy.
