Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has directly addressed and rebuked Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s assertions regarding the Indian Army’s composition. In a spirited address to supporters in Banka, Bihar, Singh made a clear plea to avoid dragging the military into political discourse. He unequivocally stated that the soldiers’ sole allegiance is to ‘Sainya Dharma,’ a principle that transcends any social division. Singh underscored the bravery of Indian soldiers, noting their consistent ability to protect and elevate the nation’s prestige.
The Defence Minister also touched upon the broader issue of social divisions, arguing that politics centered on caste and religion has been damaging. He stressed the importance of inclusive development for all communities, asserting that Indian culture inherently discourages discrimination. Illustrating India’s military strength, Singh recalled ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a decisive operation against terrorist strongholds after an attack in Pahalgam. He clarified that while the operation is on hold, its objectives remain. Singh confidently declared that India’s international image has transformed, and it is now perceived as a global power.
