A former minister and prominent Congress leader, K.N. Tripathi, has raised serious allegations against the state government, claiming a plot to assassinate him after his official police security was abruptly removed. Speaking in Daltonganj, Tripathi revealed that his personal safety is now entrusted to loyal party activists equipped with sophisticated firearms, a situation he described as unique for a former minister.
During a recent encounter, Tripathi expressed shock at the lack of police presence, questioning their whereabouts. “Where are the government security personnel?” he asked. His immediate response was chilling: “The government wants to eliminate me and silence my dissent.” He further alleged complicity from certain police officers in this alleged plot, highlighting the government’s failure to uphold its security obligations. “The government is responsible for my security as per protocol, but they have withdrawn it. They simply don’t care about my safety,” he stated.
Tripathi asserted that recent accusations of him assaulting security staff, leading to legal cases including under the Harijan Act, were manufactured. “These allegations of assaulting security personnel were a deliberate conspiracy. The cases filed were part of this larger scheme,” he explained.
Regarding the armed individuals accompanying him, Tripathi clarified their identity. “These are not hired guards; they are devoted Congress workers who have taken it upon themselves to protect me,” he said. He placed his faith in the local populace, stating, “The people of the Daltonganj area are my protectors.” He reiterated his unwavering resolve, adding, “I am not afraid of anyone. My strength comes from these dedicated workers who accompany me voluntarily and unarmed, some choosing to carry weapons out of their own will.”
Concluding with defiance, Tripathi declared his commitment to speaking out against corruption. “My voice will not be suppressed. I will keep speaking out against injustice. The government owes an explanation for revoking my security and orchestrating this conspiracy against me,” he demanded.
