Palamu district authorities have successfully dismantled an illegal liquor operation, recovering an impressive haul of nearly 2,000 bottles of country liquor. The discovery was made in the vicinity of Kajrat Nawadih railway station, within the jurisdiction of the Hussainabad police station. Acting on a credible tip received late Monday, police launched an immediate investigation. A specialized team, formed under the guidance of Hussainabad Sub-Divisional Police Officer S. Mo Yakub, conducted a thorough search of the area. The illegal liquor, identified as ‘Tanaka’ and ‘Chabili’ brands, was found concealed in dense bushes. The recovery included 23 sacks, each packed with four cases, amounting to 92 cases and approximately 2,000 individual bottles. A motorcycle used in the illicit trade was also impounded. The primary suspect, Rajan Kumar Singh from Kajrat Nawadih, has been arrested and is currently in judicial remand. Police have filed charges against him at the Hussainabad police station. This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts by Palamu law enforcement to curb the flow of contraband and maintain law and order.
