In a swift breakthrough, the Khunti police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the severe assault on businessman Shafiq Mian. The incident, which occurred on October 13th in Chhata village, Karra police station area, saw Mian fired upon and left seriously injured.
The arrested individuals, Shahid Mian and Modasir Ahmad, also known as Mo Raja Khan, were identified and taken into custody. Shahid Mian hails from Baraik Toli, Karra, while Modasir Ahmad resides in Haider Complex, Khunti.
According to police officials, the motive behind the violent act was a market dispute. A disagreement had reportedly been ongoing between the victim, Shafiq Mian, and one of the accused, Shahid Mian, concerning the operation of a cosmetics business in the Rola Guttu village market.
The special investigation team, formed by Superintendent of Police Manish Tappo due to the gravity of the case, successfully traced and arrested the accused. Their confession and subsequent leads led to the recovery of a scooty and two live ammunition rounds, presumed to be linked to the attack. This operation demonstrates the efficiency of the police in solving serious crimes.
