Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Chhattisgarh’s 25th statehood anniversary by inaugurating and laying the foundation for development projects valued at over Rs 14,260 crore. His visit to Nava Raipur marked a significant step forward for the state, boosting its confidence and accelerating its developmental trajectory across multiple sectors, including crucial infrastructure, healthcare, and energy.
Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi emphasized the profound changes witnessed in Chhattisgarh. “Our government is working tirelessly to reduce difficulties in your lives,” he stated, pointing to universal electricity and internet access in villages as major achievements. He also highlighted the far-reaching impact of the Ujjwala gas scheme, which now provides vital fuel to tribal and Dalit families, with future plans for piped gas connections.
The Prime Minister underscored the evolution of rural connectivity, noting that the state’s road network has expanded to an impressive 40,000 km since Chhattisgarh’s inception in 2000, effectively linking previously isolated areas.
In a significant boost to housing, 3.51 lakh homes were officially inaugurated during the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony. Furthermore, Rs 1,200 crore was disbursed to 3 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), reinforcing the commitment to providing secure and dignified housing for all.
The Prime Minister also paid homage to the state’s heroes by unveiling a statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh and inaugurating a dedicated museum. The inauguration of the new Vidhansabha building, a marvel of green architecture powered by solar energy and equipped with water conservation systems, signifies a forward-looking approach to governance and sustainable development.
