A new chapter in Chhattisgarh’s governance has begun with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the state’s modern assembly complex in Nava Raipur. The Prime Minister addressed the significance of the occasion, stating it heralds a golden era of progress for the state. He drew a historical parallel, underscoring the vital role played by prominent figures from Chhattisgarh in shaping the Indian Constitution under the leadership of Dr. BR Ambedkar. PM Modi expressed a deep personal affinity for Chhattisgarh, referring to his journey and the state’s people as a profound influence. He reiterated India’s foundational democratic principles, calling it the ‘mother of democracy,’ and pointed towards the upcoming ‘Amrit Varsh’ in 2025. The Prime Minister recalled witnessing the state’s evolution from its very conception, acknowledging the vision and determination behind its creation. He dedicated the new assembly building and the unveiling of a statue to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, attributing the state’s formation 25 years ago to his foresight. Modi believes the inauguration marks the fulfillment of Vajpayee’s aspirations for Chhattisgarh’s development and recognition. The impressive new Vidhan Sabha, covering 51 acres and costing Rs 324 crore, is poised to symbolize the state’s rich cultural tapestry and its commitment to advancement.
