Jashpur district is set to witness significant progress following Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s recent visit, during which he inaugurated and initiated groundwork for development projects valued at an impressive Rs 40.89 crore. The ceremony celebrated the completion of four projects totaling Rs 4.16 crore and laid the foundation for nine new initiatives, amounting to Rs 36.72 crore, aiming to uplift the Farsabahar region.
The newly inaugurated infrastructure includes essential road networks designed to improve local transport and access. These comprise the Maskamara to Lavakera main road (1.70 km, Rs 1.81 crore), the Ambakchar approach road (1.00 km, Rs 1.29 crore), and the Mundadih approach road (0.90 km, Rs 95.53 lakh).
The future development landscape of Jashpur was further shaped by the groundbreaking for nine new projects. A substantial Rs 23.96 crore will be invested in the Pamsala–Saraïtola 11.50 km road, which is the largest undertaking. Additional key projects include a new Rest House in Farsabahar (Rs 1.72 crore), a Sludge Treatment Plant (Rs 31.38 lakh), and a series of hostel buildings dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of tribal students. Post-Matric Boys’ Hostels are planned for Kolhenjhariya, Farsabahar, and Pandripani, while Pre-Matric Boys’ Hostels will be established in Lavakera, Pandripani, and Tapkara. Each of these hostel facilities is estimated to cost between Rs 1.52 crore and Rs 1.91 crore.
This comprehensive approach to development highlights the state government’s strategy of inclusive growth, prioritizing infrastructure for rural connectivity, sanitation, education, and the welfare of tribal communities. Chief Minister Sai’s presence and commitment signal a renewed focus on bringing development to the remotest villages of Jashpur.
