India has received Sunil Sardhania, the alleged mastermind behind the recent violence targeting singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria. Sardhania is accused of orchestrating the firing incident against Fazilpuria’s vehicle and the murder of his associate, Rohit Shokeen. He was detained in Zurich, Switzerland, after being initially based in Jerusalem, and has now been deported to face legal proceedings in India.
The attack on Fazilpuria, celebrated for his popular tracks like ’32 Bore’ and ‘Kar Gayi Chull’, occurred on July 14th along Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). The singer was traveling near Badshahpur when assailants in a TATA Punch car opened fire, striking his vehicle twice. Fazilpuria managed to evade the dangerous encounter.
In a separate but connected incident, Rohit Shokeen, a property dealer and close confidant of Fazilpuria, was fatally shot in Gurugram’s Sector 77 on August 4th by individuals on motorcycles. Sardhania later claimed responsibility for Shokeen’s death through social media posts, further solidifying his alleged role in the criminal activities.
Police investigations have revealed that the violence appears rooted in complex gang rivalries and significant financial disagreements involving millions of rupees. The probe has identified Deepak Nandal, a friend of the victim Shokeen, as a key suspect, possibly motivated by an alleged insult and failure to repay debts.
Rahul Fazilpuria, who commands a large social media following, is also recognized for his friendship with YouTuber Elvish Yadav. Their names previously surfaced in a controversy concerning the use of live snakes during a music video shoot. Law enforcement agencies are continuing their efforts to apprehend all individuals involved in these criminal acts.
